Lindsey and Justin’s wedding at Deity Brooklyn was everything a summer city celebration should be: intimate, intentional, and effortlessly stylish. Located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, Deity’s art-deco charm, moody interiors, and rooftop views created the perfect setting for a day that felt deeply personal.
Lindsey got ready onsite at Deity, surrounded by her closest friends and family. She wore three different vintage gowns throughout the celebration, all thrifted from Housing Works in Manhattan, along with vintage accessories, long black gloves, and a lace robe her mom had found years ago. Every detail held meaning and reflected her unique style.
Justin got ready nearby at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn with his dad and groomsmen before meeting Lindsey for their first look. From there, the day unfolded naturally, filled with tenderness, laughter, and the kind of quiet joy that lingers.
Their ceremony took place in Deity’s warm and atmospheric lounge, lit by candlelight and framed by glowing chandeliers. It was heartfelt, intimate, and full of joy. From family photos on the rooftop to the vintage Tiffany ring holder Justin found in Bushwick, every moment was intentional and true to who they are. That’s what made the day feel so special. Lindsey and Justin didn’t want to be pulled away from their day for portraits or “details” for the sake of photos. Everything was designed so they could be fully present, and that’s exactly how I approached documenting it. We let the day unfold naturally.
After sneaking out of the reception so Lindsey could slip into her second dress, I followed them into the room. In less than two minutes, I captured a few frames of the two of them against a turquoise wall. It wasn’t planned at all. Just them, caught in the quiet of a moment between celebration. These images turned out to be one of my favorites from the entire day. Honest and fleeting. This ended up giving them more time to join their loved ones at the party in the basement. Later that night, Lindsey changed into her third look: a vintage, short dress made for dancing. She rejoined the party downstairs, where the rest of the night was filled with joy, movement, and celebration. She danced the night away, surrounded by the people who love them most.
It was one of those weddings that remind you what it’s really about. Presence, connection, and a love that feels like it was always meant to be.
