Two New Yorkers, One City: A Spring Engagement Session from West Village to DUMBO
There’s something about this city that never lets go. Even when you move away, it lingers in your coffee order and the way you cross the street like you own it. That spirit was at the heart of Caro and Kyle’s West Village engagement photos, a session that felt like a love letter to New York City.
We started their West Village engagement photos at Bandits, a retro-style bar where neon signs glowed and cocktails flowed. The cozy, nostalgic vibe set the perfect tone: warm laughter, sidewalk chats, and that magnetic energy only the Village can offer. From there, we wandered quiet corners of the neighborhood, bathed in golden light that filtered through brownstone-lined streets. These moments, the in-between, the unposed, the real, are where the magic lives.
From the West Village, we made our way to a rooftop in Chelsea. The breeze carried the sounds of the city below while the skyline wrapped around us. It felt romantic and still, like seeing the city for the first time all over again. This was their quiet chapter, just the two of them, above it all.
We ended where so many New York love stories do: in DUMBO, with the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges behind us and the last light of day dancing across the water. It’s a favorite for a reason. As the skyline stretched behind them, Caro and Kyle held each other like the city still belonged to them—and in a way, it always will.
This shoot wasn’t just about engagement photos in NYC. It was about coming home, to each other, and to a city that will always be part of their story.
